Editing a Folder or Document

To Edit a folder or document, click on the Edit icon from the Document Manager view.

Once here, edit the relevant details for the Folder or Document.

For documents:

If a new document is being uploaded, the system will automatically update the version number of the document only if a new Display document is uploaded.

Note: Any change to any field within the document/folder editor view will be recorded against the current version of the document/folder and will be visible in the document history tab.

When uploading a new version of the document, you can also annotate a change summary. When a change summary is entered, this will be recorded for the current version being uploaded and will be made available for the front end user to see also. Only version updates and change summaries are made available to front end users.

Document Types

The system supports an unlimited number of Document Types which can be defined in the System Settings. By Default the system comes pre-loaded with Folder, Wiki Page, Protocol and Procedure.

When selecting a document type, if Folder is selected, the document will display as a folder and can have documents stored under it. If a Wiki Page is selected, after the document has been added, the document will display a Page Editor option under the main document update details section. This enables the user to add any html content to the page for display to front end users.

Selecting any other user defined document type will display the document as a document in the front end, which enables users to view the document and to see the extended properties of the document.
